Hydraulic Packing of Woven Bags: Keep the Bale Piece Count Traceable

A bale piece count should follow the actual woven bags allocated to that bale. Establish the counting unit, the contents of each incoming bundle and the treatment of bags removed during preparation. Compression changes the physical package, while the quantity record must continue to show which counted pieces entered it. An agreed counting method helps buyers compare the packing result with the order and subsequent receiving record.

Define one counted bag

Specify the finished article that counts as one unit. For example, a bag with an inserted liner may be treated as one complete article under the agreed order specification. If liners are supplied separately, the quantity record needs separate entries. Folded layers, nested bags and pieces awaiting rework can create ambiguity unless the preparation team shares the same counting definition.

Zhejiang Kangjia Machinery Co., Ltd. lists KS series hydraulic packers for compressing woven bags, bulk bags and other soft materials into bales. Its product information asks buyers to discuss the material condition, required bale size and handling arrangement. A piece-count requirement adds commercial quantity information to that project discussion and should identify the type of finished bag being packed.

Identify the incoming bundles

Give each bundle a reference and record its counted quantity. State whether the bundle was counted directly or carries a quantity transferred from an earlier verified operation. When a bundle has been opened since that verification, review whether its recorded quantity remains valid. An unchanged label cannot resolve an undocumented removal or the addition of replacement pieces.

Keep the bag specification and relevant production reference with the bundle list. Bags that look similar may have different dimensions, liners or printing requirements. If mixed specifications are permitted in one bale, list their quantities separately and identify the agreed packing arrangement. Where the order calls for a single specification, confirm that the incoming bundles meet that requirement before allocation.

General packing-area practice is to place counted bundles in a designated staging position with a bundle card showing the identity and quantity. Mark the allocation to a bale only when the bundle is transferred under the agreed workflow. This creates a record of the transfer and reduces the chance that a waiting bundle is counted in two different bales.

Reconcile additions and removals before closure

A simple quantity ledger can start with the sum of allocated bundle counts, add documented extra pieces and subtract documented removals. In a hypothetical example, four bundles of fifty bags provide two hundred bags. If three are removed and two approved replacements are added, the recorded load contains one hundred ninety-nine bags. These numbers illustrate arithmetic and do not specify a suitable machine load.

The example also shows why an intended bale count needs a final reconciliation. If the order requires two hundred pieces, the team must resolve the one-piece difference using its agreed process before issuing that quantity on the bale label. Keep reworked or rejected pieces identifiable while that resolution takes place so their status is clear to the person authorizing release.

Describe how opened bundles and partial bundles will be handled. A partial remainder should receive an updated identity and quantity record before returning to storage. Otherwise, a later operator may reuse the original full-bundle count. Use the same unit throughout the reconciliation and retain any supporting count sheets that explain a correction.

Connect the count to the physical bale

Assign a bale identifier and link it to the incoming bundle references and reconciliation sheet. Record the finished bag specification, final count, packing date and responsible release decision. If a shipment contains several bales, the shipment total can be derived from these individual records. Keep any estimated quantities visibly distinguished until they are resolved under the agreed verification process.

The KS series hydraulic packers page provides the equipment reference for a discussion of material, bale dimensions and handling. Ask separately how counting and bundle preparation will be performed for the proposed workflow. Any requested counter or other auxiliary equipment should be identified in the quotation and confirmed for the actual bag format and preparation method.

General dispatch practice is to photograph the finished bale identifier beside its release record before transfer to the shipping area. Keep the label readable and connected to the recorded quantity. Photographs support identification, while the counting record supplies the underlying quantity evidence. Carry out all preparation and handling according to the approved equipment instructions and site procedures.

Preserve corrections when a bale is reopened

If a bale is opened for inspection or repacking, record the event and any pieces removed or added. Decide whether the original bale identifier remains suitable under the project traceability rules or whether a new identifier is needed. In either case, preserve a clear link to the earlier record and issue an updated count after reconciliation.

Agree how a receiving discrepancy will be investigated. Useful evidence includes the bale identifier, seal or wrapping condition where relevant, the receiving count method and the original bundle ledger. Resolve the affected quantity against those records. A reported difference should remain visible until the responsible parties document the explanation and the accepted corrected quantity.

Frequently asked questions

Q1. Can bale mass be used to declare a bag count?

A. Use the counting method agreed for the order. A mass-based estimate requires an established basis that accounts for bag variation and packaging mass, and should be identified as such. Where a verified piece count is required, retain the agreed count evidence for the actual bags allocated.

Q2. What should happen to a partly used bundle?

A. Record the transferred quantity and verify the remaining quantity under the agreed procedure. Update the remainder's identification before returning it to storage or allocating it elsewhere. Keep the relationship to the original bundle so the same pieces cannot be assigned twice in the ledger.

Q3. How should replacement bags appear on the record?

A. Record their quantity, specification and source reference as additions. Retain the removed-bag entry as a separate event, then calculate the final count. Confirm that the replacement articles meet the relevant release requirements before including them in the accepted bale quantity.
